| I am Ha'ntaan. You may know me by the title Rat King. It is a fitting moniker, as it illustrates my role to those who do not wish to understand me. For that matter, you are probably incapable of understanding me. This is for the best, for when the time comes, compassion will not play a role.
Know this, I am no ally of mankind. Nor am I a foe... at least not at this time. I am monitoring your world. We are keeping track of the things that you surface dwellers do. Your hypocrisies do not go unnoticed by my servants. Your violent transgressions against us do not go unheeded. Blood spilled is blood tallied. We have a long list... a very, very long list. There is a reason why we do this. My loyal minions report your doings to me. For now I am content to stay deep within my realm, as long as you and your kind remain in yours. Do not seek me out, for you will not like what you find. You cannot begin to comprehend what my people and I represent, nor the society that I reign over. Ironically you shun us, yet all the while you pursue your own "rat race" of existence. As I said, your hypocrisies speak loudly to those of us who watch and listen. We do not fear you... you may decide to fear us. You would be wise to do so. The meek shall inherit the Earth. |
