"I just wanted to shoot you an update on the 'Ninja Turtles: Next Mutation' Region 2 DVD release as I recently purchased it. Despite the cover art's title, it is in fact the edited 'Hero Turtles' show, which has 'Hero' replacing 'Ninja' in the opening theme song and Michelangelo uses twin nightsticks rather than nunchakus like in the US version of the show."

"I received this UK release copy of Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation off eBay, it’s the Volume Two that was released in October of last year. Unfortunately it is not what we were hoping for. The cover says Volume 1 and the back lists the first five episodes of the series, the person who posted a review on this DVD at Amazon said he wasn’t going to take off the plastic to find out if the DVD is what the cover says it is, or if Maximum Entertainment just screwed up the cover and it really is the next eight episodes. As such, nobody knew what the DVD really was, until now. Personally I was hoping the case was a dodgy cover. I’ve taken the risk and yes it is just a re-release of 'East Meets West' Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and not the next eight episodes in the series at all. It’s not worth getting if you already own the Two Disk Volume 1, which has everything on this release plus three extra episodes and special features."

"NT:TNM Volume
2 is basically a re-release of the last three episodes from the original
two-disk copy. Fortunately the next three episodes in this series are
soon to be released on DVD.
"Having said that, I’d also thought I’d point out the
mistakes on the back of the cover, much like the ‘All In The Family’
VHS, the synopsis for 'Staff of Bu-Ki' says stuff about blowing up the
planet Venus. Whoever wrote that obviously didn’t see the episode!
Maybe he was told about it by someone and confused the planet with the
turtle."
