The following
clips were taken from the CGI (computer graphics imaging) "pilot"
for a proposed TMNT television show that was produced back in
2001.
To
dispell all of the rumors out there: these clips are not taken
from the proposed CG movie from Imagi!
"Pilot" in
this case simply means a short clip that illustrated the look
and feel of what the show would have been like had it been picked
up by a network. These clips are not excerpts taken from
a longer 22 minute episode, they're the entire pilot. There's
no story involved, it was done to convey the atmosphere,
direction and content of the show as quickly and effectively as
possible.
The
work shown here was done in a period of roughly three to five
months, and while it is an example of what the show may have looked
like, it's not necessarily indicative of the quality that a finished
product would have had.
No TV networks
were interested in doing a computer animated TMNT TV series back
in 2001, so the project was dropped.
The first .MOV clip is the entire pilot in one
huge file and the other clips are smaller chunks that create the
complete pilot when combined. You may need to download the latest
version of Apple's QuickTime
Player to view these files. If you do, you'll have to restart
your computer after you've installed QucikTime for the installation
to take affect.
The clip was produced by Rainbow
Studios.
