Below are tentative and (very) brief synopses of the first season of the new TMNT cartoon. Some things may change between now and when the shows are actually aired, but this will give you a basic idea of what to expect from the new series.
Do not read this if you want to be surprised! While I've done my best to give away as little as possible - some important revelations are... well... revealed! Read on at your own risk! |

The TMNT and Master Splinter are intoduced along with the villainous Foot Clan, the street gang known as the Purple Dragons and the deadly mechanical Mousers. The Turtles are driven from their old lair by the Mousers and must seek a new home.
NOTE: The new series will not be a continuation of the old cartoon. A new era is born. =O) |
The TMNT establish a new base and Don creates their first new vehicle. We discover that the Mousers were created by the mad scientist, Baxter Stockman, and meet his assistant, April O'Neil. April becomes suspicious of Stockman and he tries to have her killed. Can the TMNT arrive in time to save her?
April and the Turtles learn of Stockman's criminal plans and set out to stop the psychotic scientist by sneaking into Stocktronic's underground Mouser facility. A battle ensues. Stockman runs into Oroku Saki's right hand man, Hun, and leaves with him. Later, Saki activates a camera in a broken Mouser and discovers clues to his new nemeses - the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Raphael butts heads with a crazed vigilante named Casey Jones. After a series of conflicts, the two eventually become partners in fighting crime.
When a scientist accidentally unleashes a super-powered Nanotech monster, it's up to the TMNT to save April's Antique Shop from the shape-shifting beast!
New York City is hit by a blackout. The Foot Clan use the cover of darkness to steal an ancient Japanese Ceremonial Sword from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The blade proves to be very powerful and the Turtles must try to save the City from the Foot and their latest weapon.
Raph and Casey run into the Foot Tech Ninjas - a new breed of Soldier that is faster, stronger and able to make themselves virtually invisible. Raph is captured but Casey escapes to warn the Turtles of this new threat.
Casey's friend Angel is going through initiation to join the Purple Dragons. Can Space Case and the Turtles save her from going down the road to self-destruction? Will Angel save Casey after he's been captured by the notorious street gang?
The TMNT have made friends with a group of homeless folks, and the Green Teens get very worried when their buddies start disappearing. The Turtles investigate the disappearances and discover an egomaniacal madman who is making slaves of their allies and forcing them to build an empire of garbage. Looks like it's time for the TMNT to take out the trash!
Master Splinter explains more of the Turtles' history and the reason why they must battle the Shredder.
An all-out battle with a dramatic outcome.
Filled with confidence after the battle with Shredder, Mikey decides that the Turtles should become costumed superheroes. The rest of the team thinks that Mike's idea is lame, so the headstrong Turtle decides to make his own costume and patrol the streets alone. Things do not go well, but by episode's end, Mikey makes a new friend - a real superhero!
The TMNT's security cameras capture images of a strange, hulking intruder. The Turtles head deep into the sewers to investigate the creature and discover an abandoned laboratory. Before the Green Team can investigate further, they're surrounded by giant creatures, moving in for attack!
Before a battle erupts, the Turtles discover that the creatures are intelligent and friendly. The beasts explain their origin to the Turtles, which involves the Foot Clan and a mysterious alien race.
The creatures take the Turtles to a huge underground complex located well beneath the sewers. There the TMNT meet the sole survivor of the city and learn of its history. As the Turtles make their way home, they meet Master Splinter, who warns them that the sewers are crawling with Foot Soldiers and they're no longer safe. The TMNT and Master Splinter contact April, who puts the mutants up in her antique store until the Foot activity ceases.
This episode is an homage to legendary comic book artist Jack "King" Kirby, Kevin Eastman's and Peter Laird's favorite comic artists. It's loosely based on the Donatello micro-series.
Loosely based on the Leonardo micro-series.
Loosely based on TMNT #10.
After the battles of the previous episode, Casey takes the TMNT, Master Splinter and April to his grandmother's dilapidated farmhouse in Massachusetts to recover. Prying eyes cause problems.
Some inept paranormal investigators create problems for the TMNT, but it's nothing compared to the trouble that occurs when a real monster shows up!
The TMNT return to New York (just like the tite sez) to face the Shredder. After they've gained entrance to Saki's skyscraper, they face Baxter Stockman in a new form!
Oddly, the Turtles battle alongside Shredder against the transformed Baxter Stockman!
After the battle with Baxter, the Turtles must face Shredder. The boys are separated from one another and the fight goes poorly, until Master Splinter reminds them that they must fight as a team rather than as individuals. After the battle is fought, the Turtles discover that Master Splinter is missing!
With Splinter mysteriously vanishing in the previous episode, the Turtles are getting frustrated, having no clue on where to look to find him. Raph grows impatient with the planning and heads out on his own, quickly running into a kid who is being pursued by mobsters.
Donatello spots a truck with the initials T.C.R.I. - the same as those found on the Mutagen canister that had transformed them! The TMNT follow the vehicle to an imposing skyscraper that they decide to infiltrate.
The Turtles make their way into the T.C.R.I. building only to find it practically deserted and comprised of false architecture. Eventully the Turtles find Splinter in the TCRI facility, but he's in no condition to be rescued - they also discover other life forms on the base, and they're not of this Earth!
